The Therapeutic Fostering Assessment (TFA)

The Therapeutic Fostering Assessment (TFA) is a new, streamlined process which...

  • Removes duplication

  • Saves hours of work for social workers and administrators

  • Ensures that applicants are properly prepared for the fostering task

The new Therapeutic Fostering Assessment seamlessly integrates all necessary training, including the Training Support & Development (TSD) and All Wales Induction Framework (AWIF) requirements.

It also provides therapeutic foster parents with a Customise Qualification Level 2 Award in Therapeutic Fostering (TFQ), accredited by the nationally recognised awarding body NCFE CACHE, during their assessment.

Exciting News!

One of our pilot agency's where the TFA has been embedded for a couple of years has been graded Ofsted Outstanding. Read more here.

The Three Tools in Therapeutic Parenting Training

From the best-selling author of ‘The A-Z of Therapeutic Parenting’ come these ground-breaking practical intervention tools for Social Workers and Professionals, working alongside adopters and foster parents.

Do you feel that sometimes you don't know where to start?

SARAH NAISH THE A-Z.avif

The three tools training offers a step-by-step approach to deal with, understand and resolve complex behaviours and improve relationships.

This structured approach has been tried and tested in the authors’ own former ‘Ofsted Outstanding’ fostering agency, where there were exceptionally high levels of stability.

The Trauma-Informed Preparation and Assessment for Kinship & Connected Carers (TIPPACK)

The Trauma-Informed Preparation and Assessment for Kinship & Connected Carers (TIPPACK), developed by the Centre of Excellence in Child Trauma (CoECT), is a groundbreaking tool designed to revolutionise the assessment and support of Kinship and Connected Carers across the UK. Created by Sarah Naish and Sair Penna, TIPPACK integrates essential training in child trauma and therapeutic parenting into the assessment process, ensuring carers are well-equipped to meet the needs of children who have experienced trauma.

Key features of TIPPACK include:

  • Streamlined Assessment: Provides a clear, concise format that avoids jargon and duplication.

  • Level 1 Award: Includes the Level 1 Award in Trauma-Informed Parenting Preparation & Assessment for Kinship & Connected Carers.

  • Comprehensive Training: Covers critical areas such as trauma, therapeutic parenting, managing a child's life story, and navigating contact with birth parents.

  • Support for Carers: Equips carers with crucial information and resources necessary for effective caregiving.

TIPPACK aims to standardise and streamline the evaluation process, addressing the current lack of consistency among local authorities and ensuring carers receive the support they need to provide the best care for children.
